Revelers celebrate at Irish 31’s PaddyFest in Old Hyde Park
Revelers clad in all hues of green crammed into Irish 31’s Sunday for the final day of the two-day PaddyFest in Old Hyde Park. With music as a backdrop more than 350 people celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at the Irish themed pub on the corner of Swann and Rome avenues. The event featured live bands, including Seven Nations and Mysterious Ways, a U2 cover band. Charlie Hotel, a Tampa based band, displayed its musical range crooning to the Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried” and then Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” before jumping into a rock-infused version of Marvin Gaye’s “Lets Get It On.” In addition to imbibing and eating, two large screens were set up for basketball and NASCAR watching. There were also six games of corn hole for a tournament netting the winner $1,500.
