Plant museum offers antique evaluations
TAMPA - Seven Saturdays a year skilled appraisers donate their time to evaluate the community’s possessions as a fundraiser for the Henry B. Plant Museum. The next one starts at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Music Room, when local appraisers will answer people’s questions. There is a $5 fee to evaluate each item, and the proceeds go toward the restoration and renovation of the museum. There is a limit of four items per family. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. If furniture is too large, bring a good photograph and a drawer or other part of the piece, if possible. And after the evaluation, participants may visit the museum for free.Parking is available in the Faculty and Staff parking lot on the west side of Plant Hall. For more information, call Sally Shifke at (813) 258-7302, and on weekends (813) 254-1891.
