The training and actions of some Plant High School personnel has been credited with saving the life of a student who collapsed while running on the track Tuesday.
A physical education coach, assistant principal, school nurse and resource officer revived the student using CPR and a portable defibrillator, the Hillsborough County School District said in a news release.
The automatic extended defibrillator was kept on the South Tampa campus, the district said.
The district did not release the student’s name or the reason the student collapsed.
Details on the incident were expected later today.
