Meetings focus on cuts in services

TAMPA - A series of town hall meetings is under way in Hillsborough County focusing on the impact of funding cuts to social service programs. The meetings are sponsored by For the Family and Pastors On Patrol. “If you’re dealing with a waiting list or coping with services that have either been reduced or stopped, we need to hear how it affects your life,” said Ward Cox, administrator of For the Family. All meetings will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m.:
—May 13 at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church in West Tampa, 1006 W. Cypress St. —May 20 at Christ the King Catholic Church in South Tampa, 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway —May 28 at Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave. Cox said the organizers hope to show the human impact of lost services and avert future funding cuts.
