Since its completion earlier this year, the University of Tampa’s Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex has gotten a lot of use.
The 90,000-square-foot field is the new home of the Spartans’ men’s and women’s lacrosse and soccer teams, but intramural teams and ROTC also use it, said Tom Kolbe, UT’s sports information director.
“It sees a lot of traffic,” he said of the complex on the north side of Kennedy Boulevard.
The complex, made possible by a seven-figure donation from Tampa Bay Rays founding partner Vince Naimoli, was completed in time for the men’s lacrosse team to play its final game of the regular season last spring.
This year, Kolbe said, the team is excited about playing its first full season on the new field.
