St. Joseph's Hospital breaks ground in Riverview
Nearly 100 business leaders, residents and elected officials turned out Oct. 17 for the ground-breaking ceremony for St. Joseph's Hospital-South, a $225 million nonprofit hospital that's being built at 6901 Simmons Loop Road, Riverview, by BayCare Health System. Among the dignitaries attending the event were BayCare President and CEO Steve Mason; Ed Barnes, president of the Sun City Center Community Association; Eileen Peco, president of the Federation of Kings Point; U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor; U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney; and state. Rep. Dana Young.
