Whistle Stop reopens Saturday
PLANT CITY - The Whistle Stop Café will reopen Saturday following its summer break. Jerry and Marti Lofstrom closed the iconic downtown restaurant on July 7. The café at 102 N. Collins St. will have extended hours on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., because of the monthly Bike Fest motorcycle show. Regular business hours are 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Lofstroms have closed the restaurant every summer since opening 17 years ago.This summer, Jerry Lofstrom, a columnist for the Plant City Courier, took a motorcycle jaunt across the country and wrote about it for the paper.
