Planning starts for second MudZilla in Plant City
PLANT CITY - Sign-ups are available for a second MudZilla mud run, which will be held Dec. 7 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 1500 Prevatt Road. Early registration for $39 is available for the first 250 people. The second mud run is due in part to the positive response to the first. "The response was overwhelmingly positive," said Mike Nelson, who organized the mud run. "People could not say enough good things and how much fun they had. There was also much anticipation and many requests to do a second run." Proceeds from the mud run will benefit the Youth Alliance. The MudZilla mud run, which features runners climbing over obstacles, splashing through mud, leaping over flames and passing through low-voltage jolts of electricity, will include some fine tuning the second time around.Planning is in the works for not only a new route and trails but also new obstacles and a new shaded waiting area. However, the second run will also feature a spectator trail. "Basically, they are trails that will put the spectators right on top of the action and be able to see what friends and family are actually doing and going through," Nelson said.
