PLANT CITY – An annual celebration of transportation will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Plant City Airport, 4007 Airport Road.
Planes, Trains & Automobiles is now in its fourth year, sponsored by the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce. There’s no admission, but parking is $5.
“We will have something for every member of the family,” chamber of commerce Vice President Amy Nizamoff said.
The show will include displays and demonstrations of airplanes, helicopters, model trains and cars, including autos from a Corvette club. There will be flyovers and the Plant City Police Department K-9 unit will hold demonstrations at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Hot air balloons will be on display but there won’t be rides offered, Nizamoff said.
Children 8 to 17 will be treated to free airplane rides as part of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles Program. Other features include a large kids area with a bounce house, trackless train and climbing wall. Not all the children’s activities are free.
Vendors will sell food, beverages and other refreshments, she said.
Trophies will be awarded to the top car, plane and remote control vehicle based on voting by members of the public.
