PLANT CITY – The East Hillsborough Art Guild is taking pre-registrations for the Florida Strawberry Festival Fine Art Show.
Artists don’t have to register in advance, but it will speed up the processing when they deliver their artwork to the festival grounds, show chairwoman Debra Bryant said.
The art show includes adult and youth divisions. Early registration continues through Feb. 10.
The festival, Feb. 27 through March 9, draws about 500,000 visitors a year so it’s a great place for artists to showcase their talent, Bryant said.
“We are anticipating a great show this year, with over $3,000 in prizes and over 50 placement ribbons including a Best in Show prize of $300,” she said.
Florida residents and winter visitors are eligible for the competition.
The art show is being moved to a different venue on the festival grounds this year, the Milton E. Hull building, a stone structure east of the Roy and Helen Parke exhibit hall.
The new location is larger and more centrally located within the festival grounds, which will mean greater exposure for the artists and their artwork, Bryant said.
All art entries must be delivered to the festival grounds from noon to 6 p.m. Feb. 21. Space is limited.
The guild is also looking for business sponsors for its awards.
