Plant City chamber needs help welcoming new teachers
PLANT CITY The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations and items for goody bags for its 27th annual New Teacher Coffee. The Aug. 15 event helps welcome new teachers and administrators to 25 East Hillsborough County schools. The teachers are treated to breakfast and receive goodie bags containing small gifts. At least one teacher from each school wins a door prize. The event also includes a competition for a trophy: the school whose new teachers have the best cheer wins. The coffee typically draws about 200 to 250 new educators, said Amy Nizamoff, administrative coordinator for the chamber. For information, call Nizamoff at the chamber of commerce at (813) 754-3707.
