Woman, 24, dies after fall from St. Pete condo balcony
A 24-year-old woman died after falling from the third-story balcony of an upscale condominium in St. Petersburg early Saturday, police said. A friend tried to save Alexandra Gardner but lost his grip, police said. Gardner, of St. Petersburg, may have been trying to get into a friend's locked apartment from the corridor balcony about 1:30 a.m. at The Madison, 100 Fourth Ave. S., police said. Police are describing the death as suspicious.The cause and manner of death are under investigation, police said. The condominium describes itself as "resort-style living in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg."
