A toddler was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after nearly drowning in a swimming pool in unincorporated St. Petersburg this morning, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.
The girl’s caregiver was preparing her home at 5401 Westchester Blvd. for a family gathering while 1-year-old Skylar Devlin was outside in the fenced-in back yard with a family friend, deputies said.
The caregiver came outside and noticed the girl was not near the friend and then found the girl in the pool before calling 911, deputies said.
The girl was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, deputies said.
The near drowning appears to be accidental and no charges are pending, deputies said.
