Seminole motorcyclist dead after crash

A 50-year-old Seminole man died Thursday when a car drove in front of his motorcycle, the Clearwater Police Department said. Derek Diamond died at the scene of the 3:20 p.m. crash at 2185 Drew St., police said. Diamond was heading south on Belcher Road when a 1999 Mercury, which was heading north on Belcher Road, made a left turn to enter a convenience store parking lot, police said. The driver of the Mercury, 83-year-old Alfred Belanger of New Port Richey, drove in front of Diamond's 2003 Honda motorcycle, police said.
