Second suspect arrested in St. Pete shooting
A second man is under arrest in a double shooting over the weekend where a woman refused a man's advances, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Damian William Blanchard, 24, of 7570 46th Ave. N., #175, was arrested today and faces two charges of attempted first-degree murder. Damian Blanchard is the son of Rodney Jon Blanchard, who was arrested Sunday after kittens were found in the freezer of his mobile home, the sheriff's office said. Francis J. Bahr, 55, was arrested Saturday at his home and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon. He is in the Pinellas County Jail. The sheriff's office said the shootings follow apparent dispute between Bahr and Rosa Pereira, who refused Bahr's advances.Damian Blanchard then called David Sharp and Pereira out of their mobile home at the Sunshine Mobile Home Park, 7403 46th Ave. N., and then they were allegedly shot by Bahr, the sheriff's office said. Detectives say friends of Pereira called the sheriff's office today to say Damian Blanchard was at the Vagabond Mobile Home Park, 7570 46th Ave. N., and he wanted to talk to detectives, the sheriff's office said. He surrendered at that time. Detectives are looking for a witness, identified as Dayle Drollett, 54, who they say is sought for questioning and will not be charged. The victims are recovering from wounds to the upper body. Both of them spoke to detectives today, resulting in the confirmation of Damian Blanchard as the second suspect in the shootings, according to the sheriff's office. The investigation continues.
