Police: One arrest at meth lab in St. Petersburg

A block in St. Petersburg was cordoned off early Saturday morning as hazmat crews worked to disassemble an active meth lab in a home at 3445 Fourth Ave. S., police said.

Clark Vinson Reed, 51, of Seminole, was arrested at the home shortly after midnight on charges of sale, delivery and possession of meth, after attempting to hide from officers in the garage where the meth lab was discovered, police said.

The residence was evacuated and surrounding homes were notified as a precautionary measure, before St. Petersburg Fire Rescue hazmat crews responded, police said.

The home was cleared of any harmful substances that may have resulted from the meth lab, and the one block perimeter was removed, police said.
