The Pinellas County Health Department will be offering free flu shots Dec. 3 at its Largo location, 8751 Ulmerton Road.
The vaccines will be provided from 5:30 to 8 p.m., or until supplies last.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cases of influenza increase into the winter season and traditionally peak during January and February.
While flu vaccines are important for anyone older than 6 months of age, it is especially beneficial to pregnant women, people between the ages of 6 months and 24 years, those who live with or care for infants less than 6 months old, those with medical conditions that increase the risk for influenza-related complications, and health-care and emergency medical services personnel, the agency said.
To shorten the waiting time on Dec. 3, the required form is posted online at www.PinellasHealth.com. Patients can bring the completed form to the clinic.
