Pinellas County cutting two top administrators
CLEARWATER - Pinellas County Administrator Bob LaSala is cutting two top county administrator positions as part of a cost-cutting exercise. The positions of assistant county administrators Maureen Freaney and Carl Harness will be cut in September, county officials said. Freaney will head up the county’s Animal Services Department, which she has been leading on an interim basis. Harness has applied for positions outside the county. The move comes as the county looks to make up an expected budget shortfall of $12 million.
LaSala has until July to present his annual budget.
