Pedestrian seriously injured in St. Pete car crash, police say

A 47-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday when an SUV hit her as she was trying to cross a St. Petersburg street, police said.

Grace Mosley, of St. Petersburg, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Mosley was walking south across Fifth Avenue North at the intersection of 22nd Street just before 7:30 p.m. when she may have stepped into the path of a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Lezada McKnight, police said.

The SUV struck Mosley on her right side, police said.

Police continue to investigate.
