Man riding stolen motorcycle dies in Pinellas Park crash

A man riding a stolen motorcycle died late Thursday after losing control of the bike and being hurled into a parked vehicle, Pinellas Park police said.

Richard Golden, 31, of St. Petersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the 5900 block of 78th Avenue.

Golden was driving the motorcycle at a high rate of speed on eastbound 78th Avenue, police said. About 11:50 p.m., he lost control of the Honda CBR 1000 and was thrown from the seat into an unattended, parked vehicle, police said.

During the investigation, police discovered the motorcycle was reported stolen Oct. 22.

No details on the theft or the Honda’s owner were released by police.
