Fun and games at Clearwater school’s Special Olympics event

They began with opening ceremonies, lit a ceremonial torch, competed in a variety of games — and smiled a lot.

The students in the Exceptional Student Education classes at Frontier Elementary School in Clearwater held the Frontier Florida Special Olympics on Thursday.

The event was the culmination of a six-month program to develop the athletics skills of special-needs students.
