Festival after annual Epiphany cross dive moves indoors
TARPON SPRINGS - The Glendi festival, an annual Greek-themed gathering that follows the traditional Epiphany cross dive Sunday, is moving indoors due to a nasty weather forecast, organizers say. The festival will be held in the St. Nicholas Cathedral's Spanos-Pappas Community Center, 348 N Pinellas Ave. in Tarpon Springs, instead its original venue of Craig Park. The festival begins at about 1:30 p.m. The Glendi festival is free and open to the public and includes dancing, food, pastries, drinks and other items for sale. National Weather Service forecasters are calling for a 50 percent chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms Sunday under mostly cloudy skies.
