Dunedin man faces child pornography charges
A Dunedin man is facing child pornography charges after being found with pictures of young boys, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said. Lawrence M. Lemieux, 48, 801 Main St., Lot 36, was arrested this morning on 10 counts of sexual performance by a child (possession of child pornography) and one count promoting the sexual performance by a child (distribution of child pornography). His arrest follows an undercover internet investigation that began on Dec. 20 after detectives assigned to the sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Unit identified a potential suspect that was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Lemieux’s home and served it this morning. Detectives said Lemieux admitted to downloading and sharing the child pornography on his computer. His computer was found to contain additional videos of prepubescent males engaging in sexual activity.Lemieux was taken to Pinellas County Jail and is being held on $25,000 bail, according to jail records.
