DJ Trauma, formerly of WiLD 94.1, dies after flu-like symptoms
PHOENIX - Stephen Seravalli, a former Tampa radio personality known as DJ Trauma, died Friday in Arizona after contracting flu-like symptoms while visiting the Bay area during the holidays. He was 38. Seravalli worked at St. Petersburg's WLLD (94.1 FM), known as WiLD 94.1, from 1999 to 2008. He had been working for Phoenix's KKFR-FM. Former colleagues at the station said they saw Seravalli just a few weeks ago before he returned to Arizona with what he thought was a bad case of the flu. An autopsy is planned.The St. Petersburg station posted a tribute photo gallery on its Facebook page, writing "WiLD remembers our longtime family member." Operations director Marc Young of Phoenix-based Riviera Broadcasting confirmed Seravalli's death but had no additional information. A visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brett Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, with a Celebration of Life service at 5 p.m. Seravalli was born on Long Island, N.Y., on Nov. 8, 1974.
