Clearwater bicyclist killed in hit-and-run
A Clearwater bicyclist was killed early Thursday morning when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, then run over by another car on U.S. 19, troopers said. Narissaa Jo-Ann Robinson, 28, was riding her bike north in the outside turn lane of U.S. 19 near 298th Avenue North, troopers said. About 12:42 a.m., she was struck by a white 2005 Hyundai, troopers said. After being thrown from the bicycle and while lying on the road, Robinson was then struck by a 2012 Mercedes driven by Shereef Adel Moawad, 49, of Palm Harbor, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Robinson died at Mease Countryside Hospital.The Hyundai, driven by 24-year-old Christopher M. Jones of Tarpon Springs, left the scene and was found abandoned, troopers said. Troopers and Pinellas County deputies later located Jones, and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, troopers said. No charges are pending against Moawad, troopers said.
