Tarpon Springs police are investigating a stolen car that was found submerged in a canal this morning.

Police, responding to a call just after 8 a.m., found the car — a 2011 4-door silver Kia — in the area of 300 Pampas Avenue.

Pinellas County deputies reported the car as stolen, police say.

Nobody saw the car enter the water, and it is unknown how long the car was in the water, police say.

An investigation continues.
