Bungalow Fest spotlights historic Kenwood in St. Pete

Kenwood’s reputation as the “Neighborhood of the Arts” was on display this weekend during the 16th annual Bungalow Fest.

The festival not only celebrates the neighborhood’s historic homes, which feature open porches, detached garages and craftsman-style architecture, but also the diverse — and sometimes artistic — residents who live in them.

A gala with music and food was held on Saturday night to celebrate the opening of “Art in the Heart of Kenwood,” a gallery showcasing more than 20 artists from the neighborhood.

On Sunday, a tour of Kenwood’s historic bungalows wound through the 375-acre neighborhood situated between Ninth Avenue North and Central Avenue, and 34th Street and Interstate 275.
