The pilots created paper airplanes at the airpark using (the classics) paper, tape, paperclips and markers, then tested their creations on the tarmac with a flight contest to gauge their quality. The winner obtained bragging rights as Paper Plane Pilot of the Year at Tampa Bay Aviation, starting the new annual tradition, according to Stella Lacle, with Tampa Bay Aviation.
