Winners crowned at Pasco County Fair pageants
DADE CITY - The Pasco County Fair featured several popular events Friday night and through the weekend, including the Miss Pasco County Pageant, the Miss Heart of Florida pageant, a championship rodeo, a demolition derby and the baby pageant. Leja Apple, 23, of St. Petersburg, was crowned Miss Pasco County 2013 at the Miss Pasco County and Miss Pasco County Fair Pageant held in the Dan Cannon Auditorium on Saturday evening. She will represent Pasco County in the Miss Florida Pageant in July. Her platform is "Don't Miss America," encouraging others to appreciate their country. She received her crown from outgoing Miss Pasco County 2012 Erin O'Flaherty. Music Meier, 21, of Orlando, was named Miss Pasco County Fair 2013 at the pageant. She will represent the Pasco County Fair in the Miss Florida Pageant. Her platform is "Enhancing the Lives of Service Men, Women, and Veterans." She was crowned by outgoing Miss Pasco County Fair 2012 Victoria Williams. Meier was the pageant's talent award winner. On Friday evening, Hannah Elizabeth Chambers, 15, of Dade City, was named Miss Heart of Florida at the Miss Heart of Florida Pageant held in the Dan Cannon Auditorium.Other winners in the pageant were: Junior Miss Heart of Florida Emily Kathryn Chambers, 12, of Dade City; Teen Miss Heart of Florida Victoria Rose (Rosie) Fields, 14, of Dade City; Young Miss Heart of Florida Emma Kathleen Whited, 10, of Dade City; and Tiny Miss Heart of Florida Kaylee Chauncey, 6, of Zephyrhills. At the Pasco County Fair Baby Pageant, Javaya Maray Hubbard, 5, of Port Richey, daughter of Rachel Rizer and Jamael Hubbard, won Miss Pasco Princess. Dylan Oliver Davis, 5, of Zephyrhills, son of Dawn and Aaron Davis, captured Mister Pasco Prince. At the fair rodeo, Alan Frierson of O'Brien was named All-Around Cowboy for his steer wrestling and saddle bronco riding events. Danny Boydston of Zephyrhills (No. 433) was the feature winner at Sunday's demolition derby.
