A Wesley Chapel High School freshman was arrested after falsely reporting an assault which led to three schools being placed on lockdown today, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.
The girl, who is not being identified because the charges are misdemeanors, has been charged with filing a false police report and three counts of disrupting a school function. She was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing, deputies said
No threats were discovered after a student told officials she had a superficial cut or injury to her upper torso.
A number of deputies and detectives responded as a precaution to the high school, 30651 Wells Road.
Adjacent Wesley Chapel Elementary and Weightman Middle were also on lockdown, which lasted from about 12:20 to 1:50 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
Sheriff’s investigators said the stories provided by the student were inconsistent and after school was dismissed she admitted that she made up the story.
