The suspect in a fatal December shooting outside a Port Richey strip club faces a first-degree murder charge following his arrest in New York on Monday during a separate investigation into an unrelated crime.
Pasco County deputies say Taurezs Leigh Bullock, 28, was arrested in Dickson, N.Y., near Binghampton.
During Monday’s arrest, Bullock was driving a car that was being investigated by Broome County deputies. Bullock originally gave a false name to authorities, but when he was positively identified, the warrants from Pasco County were discovered.
Bullock was wanted on warrants for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 19, 2013, shooting death of David Avant, 27, in front of the Brass Flamingo, 9034 U.S. Highway 19 in Port Richey.
Broome County deputies found heroin and a digital scale in the car. Also found in his hotel room were 25 credit cards (each with different names), three fake identification cards, and several prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Bullock remains in the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility and will be extradited to Pasco County at a future date, Pasco County deputies say.
