Summer fun is larger-than-life
ZEPHYRHILLS - About 60 children played giant games near Zephyr Park on Wednesday in front of the Goin' Postal corporate headquarters on 4th Street. The event was part of a series dubbed Wonderful Wednesday, a summer activity program for children offered for free by Marcus and MJ Price, owners of the businesses Goin' Postal and Hut no. 8. Each Wednesday during the summer, the Prices have a theme and related activities planned. The activity time lasts for one hour. All ages are welcome and supplies are provided at no cost. In addition, snow cones and Domino's pizza are available for $1 donations as a fundraiser for the Great Start Learning Center, a local day care center. The themes for remaining activities will be: July 3, tai chi; July 10, stories; July 17, yoga; July 24, balloon animals; July 31, limbo contest; and Aug. 7, bike decorating and safety. The Wonderful Wednesday finale, scheduled for Aug. 14, will be a special two-hour "Back To School" Costume Party. "We've always put on free community events as a way to give back to the community that supports us," MJ Price said. "Summertime presents a challenge for families in regard to keeping children and teens occupied, without spending a fortune to do so. We hope that these free Wonderful Wednesdays will provide fun summertime memories." There is one requirement for attendance, she said with a wink. "Parents must be accompanied by children."
