Stalled front bringing rain to Tampa Bay area
A front that has stalled over the state is bringing scattered showers to the Tampa Bay area this morning, forecasters said. With a 60 percent chance of rain, the storms are expected to linger throughout the day, said Storm Team 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann. Winds from the south and southwest are pumping moisture into the area, Spann said "Tropical moisture is on a conveyor belt right into our area," she said.The cloud cover will bring high humidity with high temperatures in the upper 80s, Spann said. Some rain could continue falling overnight and into Thursday, which has a 40 percent chance of rain, Spann said.
