Showcase winners named

DADE CITY — The Pasco County Fair Showcase of Talent was an opening day hit again as 46 acts vied for first place in eight groups.

Two places were awarded for each group. Both received a trophy, and the first-place winners also received a check for $100.

Winners were Group One: First place, Aaron Barnes, 6, of Zephyrhills, and a three-way tie for second between Maggie Groomes, 7, of Land O’ Lakes; Lyra Lacson, 7, of Zephyrhills; and Jasmine Villa, 9, of Dade City.

Group Two: First place, Julianna Rose Mazza, 12, of Dade City, and second place, Macy Pickerall, 12, of Dade City.

Group Three: First place, Maitlin Hart, 13, of Land O’ Lakes, and second place, Carson Rio, 13, of Dade City.

Group Four: First place, Courtney Graham, 14, of Dade City, and second place, Victoria Neukom, 14, of Zephyrhills.

Group Five: First place, Rosie Fields, 15, of Dade City, and second place, Katie Ruffell, 17, of Dade City.

Group Six: First place, Little Stars III, and second place, Little Stars I, both of Blackwood Studios in Dade City.

Group Seven: First place, Maitlin Hart, Shelby Surratt and Haley Sanders, and there was a tie for second between the duo of Courtney Nathe and Riley Roberts and the duo of Brianna Duncan and Drew Johnston.

Group Eight: First place, Star Company Violets, and second place, Star Company Sunflowers, both of Blackwood Studios of Dade City.

To participate in the Showcase of Talent, contestants must be from Pasco County or a group must originate in Pasco County.

New this year, Showcase of Talent contestants will perform at various times throughout the fair at the Collura Family Theater, formerly the Back Porch Theater.
