DADE CITY — The second Mud Endeavor, Under the Lights, was held at the Pasco County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening with a record crowd of about 3,000 runners, according to event founder and organizer Randy Yoho.
It was Yoho’s 10th Mud Endeavor event and the biggest.
“Our goal is to create a run that appeals to the average runner as well as the elite athlete,” Yoho said. “We take pride in building each run to maximize the potential of the venue, whether it’s the intense elevation changes of our original location or the club-style lights and DJs throughout the course at our night runs.”
Mud Endeavors will be held Sept. 13 and Oct. 4 in Brooksville, and then Yoho will bring the event back to the Pasco County Fairgrounds for a Halloween Night Run on Nov. 1.
“The Halloween Run is going to be a big costume run — a little easier run with fewer obstacles and a haunted barn. More Halloweenish,” Yoho said.
Since it will be more of a fun run, Yoho may lower the normal age limit, which is 13 years old, if the younger entrants run with their parents.
