A 13-year-old girl crashed a Hyundai Sonata into a telephone pole in Holiday early this morning, leaving her 13-year-old female passenger with serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the crash happened at around 4:15 a.m. when the girl lost control on U.S. 19 near Darlington Road while being pursued by deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. The driver suffered only minor injuries.
A fire rescue ambulance responded to the crash to treat the girls and was struck by a car at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Darlington Road, causing minor injuries to the driver of the ambulance and a passenger.
The driver of the car that hit the ambulance was ticketed for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
