New Port Richey couple accused of child neglect
Tampa Tribune - A New Port Richey couple was arrested Sunday night and charged with child neglect when a 3-year-old went missing from their home. Kenneth Jeffery Ross, 39, and his wife, Jennifer Lynne Ross, 40, both of 5916 Chicory Court, were arrested and charged with child neglect. About 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the 3-year-old was discovered wandering 12 houses away from the Ross home, according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office. The child, whose clothes were wet and diaper was soaked with urine, was about 1/4 of a mile away from the home and on a different street. The sheriff's office did not release the exact relationship between the child and the couple.Kenneth and Jennifer Ross showed up at the location where the child was found and admitted they finished off a case of beer and were unaware the child was gone, deputies said. When authorities went to the Ross home, they found three torches burning on the front lawn, a child's pool full of water as well as a grill that was still warm. Both remain in the Land O' Lakes Jail and each have a bond of $3,500.
