Motorcyclist killed in Hernando crash
A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed this morning in a crash in Hernando County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. According to FHP, at 8:35 a.m., Mason Lee Rohde of Hudson was riding a 2010 Apollo AGB-21F north on Kim Lane south of Tami Trail. Meanwhile, a 2004 Chevy Silverado driven by Harry H. Backwater, 65, of Spring Hill, was traveling east on Tami Trail west of Kim Lane. Rohde failed to yield at a stop sign, turning left onto Tami Trail and in front of the Chevy, FHP said. The motorcycle hit the front of the Chevy, which ran over the bike. Rohde was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, FHP said.This incident remains under investigation.
