Missing New Port Richey woman found in New Jersey
A New Port Richey woman was the subject of a Silver Alert was found in New Jersey after getting lost on her way to Maine, according to a newspaper website. The Asbury Park Press reports Betty Payeur, 83, was flagging down passing motorists on Interstate 195 on Thursday afternoon after she got lost while driving from Florida to Kittery, Maine. Troopers who were called to the scene recognized her as the subject of the Silver Alert. Payeur had left her residence about 11 a.m. Wednesday in a 2005 Hyundai Accent. Her family reported her missing when they found out she planned to drive to visit them in Kittery, Maine. Her doctor said Payeur is physically and mentally unable to drive that far, her family said. The troopers contacted Payeur's family, who said they would drive to New Jersey, the Asbury Park Press said, who added that she will be staying at a local hotel until her family arrives.
