A Tampa man was arrested Friday in Land O' Lakes after making threats to kill Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco, according to the sheriff's office.
On June 12 about 11:30 p.m., Robert Steven Fernandez, 51, was inside McDonald's, 2420 Land O' Lakes Blvd., when he was overheard saying he planned to kill Nocco, according to the arrest report.
A witness told deputies of the threat and authorities caught up to Fernandez two days later during a traffic stop. When he was arrested, Fernandez, 915 W. Ohio Dr., had a "large amount of ammunition, handcuffs, and a nylon rope," the report said.
Fernandez, who remains in the Land O' Lakes Jail, was charged with corruption by threats against a public servant.
He was also subsequently charged with driving with a suspended license and violation of a domestic violence injunction. Bond has been set at $51,505.
