Deputies: Pasco woman stole friend’s $13K jewelry

A Zephyrhills woman was arrested Tuesday after pawning more than $13,000 worth of jewelry she stole from a friend in February, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Angela Christine Helton, 28, 7131 Rayman Loop, was staying with a friend, Grazyna Kowalska, 51, in Zephyrhills for several days when she stole jewelry valued at $13,000 on Feb. 21. That same day, she went to Cash for Gold pawn shop on Eiland Boulevard in Zephyrhills and received $101 for the items, according to an arrest report. Some of the items included a pair of diamond earrings, a rope chain and a gold bracelet. During the sale, Helton gave a thumbprint and a signature, implying that the items belonged to her and were not stolen. Helton remains in the Land O’Lakes Jail with bail set at $78,100.
She is charged with 14 counts of false verification of ownership, 12 counts of dealing in stolen property, three counts of grand theft and one count of burglary.
