Dade City man arrested after dispute leads to shooting
A dispute between two men ended in a shooting Sunday that left one of them in grave condition, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said. Carlos Hiracheta Perez, 28, of Dade City, was arrested and faces one count of attempted murder. The 24-year-old man who was shot was not identified by deputies. Perez and the other man were at a vacant home on 14900 block of Dade Street about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit. Perez fired two shots from a Colt .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol into the head of the other man, the affidavit said.Perez and two witnesses struggled over the pistol, which was taken away from Perez, the sheriff’s office said. Perez fled the scene but was later detained by Dade City police, the sheriff’s office said. The man who was shot was taken to an undisclosed hospital. Perez, of 37009 Old San Ann Road, was booked early Monday at the Pasco County Jail without bail.
