Church Street Christmas held for 33rd year
The annual Dade City Church Street Christmas was held last weekend at Church Avenue and 17th Street, with guests strolling along viewing brightly decorated homes and sidewalks. The event, held Friday to Sunday, was open to the community as a gift from residents and churches along the bricked street. A live Nativity scene was featured at First Baptist Church. Church Street Christmas was started 33 years ago by the sanctuary choir of First Baptist Church. It grew to include the other two churches on Church Avenue — First Presbyterian and First United Methodist. In recent years, the residents on historical Church Avenue took over organizational efforts.
