A brush fire consuming less than an acre of land in eastern Hillsborough County destroyed farm equipment, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
Fire crews were called to 1120 Swilley Road near Plant City Sunday to battle the blaze. It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the flames, firefighters said.
Although it was mostly brush and portions of a strawberry field that burned, the flames did destroy and heavily damage some farm equipment.
There were no injuries reported and no structures were damaged by the fire, according to fire rescue. Crews used several tankers, which carry about 3,500 gallons of water each, to put out the fire.
