A Grand block party
NEW PORT RICHEY - The annual Night in the Tropics street party Saturday whisked spectators away to a tropical island in downtown New Port Richey. Thousands converged along Grand Boulevard as the street was blocked off to traffic. Bands on three stages, including Havana Swing and Zuberi and the Crew, entertained spectators. Classic cars lined the street. Greater New Port Richey Main Street shifted the event to a Saturday night this year. For the first time, bars and restaurants could serve alcoholic beverages to patrons, who could then take drinks onto the street under new rules passed by the city.
