Wrestler Hulk Hogan onboard for 'conversation' tour in 2012
TAMPA - Wrestling celebrity Hulk Hogan will soon join the ranks of Al Pacino, Carol Burnett and Larry King with his own traveling stage show. The Agency Group, one of the world's biggest entertainment booking agencies, announced late Wednesday that Hogan has signed on for "In Conversation: Outside the Ring with Hulk Hogan." The 90-minute staged production will feature clips from Hogan's career, an interview session with a guest interviewer and questions from the audience. A news release said Hogan would appear in a few venues in the fall before taking the show on tour in 2012.Nick Meinema, an agent with The Agency Group, calls it a "no holds barred live theatrical production with the 'Hulkster'." "Fans will get to hear Hulk Hogan talk about his life and wrestling career," Meinema says. "There will be behind-the-scenes stories, rare video, and a question-and-answer period at the end of the show." It's too early to know if Hogan, who grew up in Tampa as Terry Bollea, will hold a show in the area. The show may be booked in some casinos, too. Hogan also is currently signed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. The Agency Group has more than 1,500 clients, including Alice Cooper, Leon Russell, Liza Minnelli and Pauly Shore.
