Woman dies after car sinks in pond at International Plaza
Tampa police are investigating a death over the weekend involving a woman who drove her vehicle into a pond at International Plaza. Susan Lim, 26, of Tampa, died early Sunday morning, police said. Lim was driving in the International Plaza parking lot at around 3 a.m. Sunday when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road and drove down the embankment and into the water, police said. Her vehicle submerged about 75 feet from shore, police said. Emergency crews located the vehicle but weren't immediately able to reach it. Tampa Fire Rescue and Tampa police divers responded and were able to locate Lim, police said.Lim was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital at 4:31 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. "We are investigating to determine what factors led to the crash," said Janelle McGregor, a Tampa police spokeswoman.
