Woman, 79, mixes up pedals, crashes into store
OCALA - A 79-year-old woman getting driving tips in hopes of restoring her driverís license confused the gas pedal for the brakes and crashed into a Target store. Police say Norma Joan Brennan's pastor was giving her tips prior to her taking the driverís test Thursday afternoon in the storeís parking lot. The Rev. Kevin Holsapple said that Brennan was adjusting the seat and pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, the Ocala Star-Banner reported. The Mercury Grand Marquis went through the storeís front door. Brennan, of Crystal River, was given a citation for driving with a license that was suspended or revoked. Holsapple, of Crystal River, was cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate his vehicle.Brennan told police she had been a licensed driver for 50 years before it was taken way for medical reasons. No one was injured.
