Truck carrying concrete bags overturns on I-275 in Tampa
An overturned truck and a dropped load of concrete caused a load of problems today for commuters along I-275 near downtown Tampa. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Eloy Ramirez, 29, of Tampa, was driving a 2001 Ford E-350 and hauling a trailer containing bags of concrete just before 10 a.m. when he lost control. The load of concrete shifted, causing the trailer to sway side-to-side within the outside lane, the FHP said. Ramirez lost control and the truck and trailer overturned near Howard Avenue, the FHP said.Ramirez was not injured, but passenger Christopher Morales, 21, of Tampa, suffered minor injuries, the FHP said. The crash closed portions of I-275 until around 11:30 a.m., the FHP said.
