A Tampa motorcyclist died early this morning from injuries sustained in a crash Tuesday in east Tampa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Andrew Paul Robinson was riding at a high rate of speed southbound on 56th Street, around 4:45 p.m., when he struck the back of a 2004 Chevrolet van driven by 21-year-old Dustin Lee Davis of Plant City.
Davis was in a paved median and was turning onto 56th Commerce Park Boulevard when the front of Robinson’s motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of Davis’ van.
Robinson, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he died early this morning, the FHP said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the FHP said.
